The Ukrainian Grain Association forecasts grain and oilseed production in 2026 at 83.6 million tonnes (the 2025 harvest is estimated at 80 million tonnes).
This was reported by the association’s press service.
Experts note that under such a harvest, exports in the 2026/27 season could potentially reach 50.8 million tonnes (the current season’s export estimate is 42.3 million tonnes).
However, they stress that this is an optimistic scenario, which would only be possible if Ukraine’s logistical challenges do not worsen due to Russia’s aggression and its ongoing bombing of Ukrainian transport infrastructure and energy facilities.
The association estimates 2026 wheat production at 22.8 million tonnes (22.5 million tonnes in 2025), with potential wheat exports reaching 17 million tonnes (13.5 million tonnes in the current season).
Barley production in 2026 is expected at 5.2 million tonnes (4.9 million tonnes in 2025), with exports of about 2.2 million tonnes (1.6 million tonnes expected this season).
Corn production is projected at 32.1 million tonnes in 2026 (31.1 million tonnes in 2025). Potential exports could reach 27 million tonnes, but again only under conditions of uninterrupted logistics (22 million tonnes in the current season).
Sunflower harvest in 2026 is expected at 13.3 million tonnes (11.1 million tonnes in 2025). Traditionally, almost all sunflower seeds will be processed domestically—13.5 million tonnes—with exports not exceeding 50,000 tonnes.
Rapeseed production in 2026 may reach 3.4 million tonnes (3.2 million tonnes in 2025), while exports in the 2026/27 season are expected at only 1.9 million tonnes, with the remainder processed in Ukraine.
Soybean harvest this year is projected at 4.9 million tonnes (5 million tonnes in 2025). Potential exports are estimated at 2.3 million tonnes (2.9 million tonnes this season), with the rest processed domestically due to legislative restrictions that complicate exports, similar to rapeseed.
