The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated UAH 718 million to ensure transport connections with the southwestern part of Odessa region and with Moldova.

These measures will support uninterrupted logistics both within the region and for international cargo and passenger transportation with Moldova and Romania.

This is particularly important given the Russia's attempts to disrupt transport corridors through attacks on bridges, railways, ports, and other logistical infrastructure.

The decision will allow the establishment of alternative routes near the bridge in the settlement of Mayaky, which was damaged at the end of 2025 due to Russian shelling.

“We are systematically strengthening alternative routes — both within the region and on international routes to Moldova and Romania. This concerns cargo transportation, mobility of people, and the stable functioning of the economy.

A particular focus is the restoration and creation of backup solutions near the Mayaky bridge, which was damaged at the end of last year. This will create additional logistical routes and reduce the vulnerability of critical infrastructure.

"In conditions where the enemy deliberately targets bridges, railways, and ports, our task is to ensure the resilience of the system. Backup routes are a necessity,” said Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba.

The decision also includes the development of a bridge crossing at the “Yampil – Coseuți” checkpoint in Vinnytsia region.

It foresees the construction of separate infrastructure solutions to establish backup road connections and strengthen the resilience of transport and logistics links not only with Moldova but also toward the ports of the Danube region.
