Ukraine and Georgia have agreed to expand access for Ukrainian goods to the Georgian market, including opening exports of beef, raw materials, and cattle by-products, as well as plant-based animal feed, said Serhii Tkachuk, Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
“Opening the market today is only the first stage. Equally important is ensuring further support for exporters: helping them establish contacts, overcome technical barriers, and build trust in Ukrainian products. This is how a modern state institution should work,” he wrote on Facebook.
According to Tkachuk, the opening of the Georgian market for composite products containing poultry meat and plant-based components is in the final stage of approval. The issue of market expansion was also discussed with Natalia Zhurbenko, First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Georgia. Special attention during international meetings was also given to cooperation with Azerbaijan. The parties discussed the accreditation of new Ukrainian producers ready to enter already opened markets. Consultations were also held with representatives of the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate of Poland regarding coordination between the competent authorities of both countries.
“Each such agreement and each opened market is an additional opportunity for Ukrainian producers, new foreign currency inflows for the state, and another step toward strengthening Ukraine’s economic resilience,” the head of the agency concluded.
