DRI, the European renewable energy development arm of DTEK, has received a commercial operating license for the 126 MW Văcărești solar power plant in Romania, according to ExPro.
The license was issued by the Romanian National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), allowing the project to begin full commercial operations. The Văcărești solar power plant is located in Dâmbovița County.
The facility is expected to generate enough electricity to supply approximately 50,000 households annually.
According to company estimates, the plant’s operation will help avoid around 48,600 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year.
DRI (DTEK Renewables International) is the European platform of the DTEK Group dedicated to developing renewable energy projects outside Ukraine.
The company is implementing solar and wind power projects across Central and Eastern Europe, including in Romania, Poland, Croatia, and Italy.
