Denmark will provide the Ukraine Fund, which supports investment in Ukraine, with at least an additional 500 million Danish kroner. This was announced during a meeting in Copenhagen between the Ukrainian delegation, led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, and Denmark’s Minister for Business Morten Bødskow, with the participation of Ukraine’s Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev. The funds will be used by the Danish Export-Import Investment Fund (EIFO) to guarantee Danish companies’ investments in reconstruction projects.

During the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding to continue and strengthen cooperation under Denmark’s support model.

“Denmark’s government is allocating 500 million kroner to the Ukraine Fund. This guarantee capital allows EIFO to support investment and export projects worth at least 1.5 billion kroner. The mechanism reduces business risks and opens opportunities for Danish companies to participate in reconstruction. We highly value Denmark’s consistent support since the start of the full-scale war,” said Prime Minister Svyrydenko.

Currently, around 100 major Danish companies are investing in Ukraine. Both governments continue to work to create favorable conditions for investment and cooperation between Ukrainian and Danish businesses. Denmark is actively involved in funding defense and infrastructure projects. For example, EIFO-backed investment helped Ukraine import equipment for the construction of the second phase of the Tiligul Wind Farm, strengthening the country’s energy security.

Minister Sobolev noted, “We are grateful to the Danish government for expanding support through EIFO and increasing available financing for the Ukraine Fund. This means Danish companies will be more active in our market, as EIFO will cover their investment risks.”

Denmark’s Minister for Business Morten Bødskow emphasized that Denmark has stood alongside Ukraine from day one of the war and continues to do so.

“I am proud that we are again making a significant contribution to rebuilding the country. It is an honor to welcome Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko to Denmark and further strengthen cooperation between our countries, showing the Ukrainian people that their Danish friends support them in every way possible.”

The meeting also discussed future cooperation. Ukraine seeks to focus support on financing in the national currency to reduce business risks and ensure that support instruments cover all key sectors, including defense. Strengthening Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex will require access to credit.

The Ukraine Fund, administered by the Danish Export-Import Investment Fund, helps Danish companies export to and invest in Ukraine. EIFO assumes the risks associated with doing business in Ukraine. Guarantees have already been provided for projects in agriculture, energy, and healthcare. The new funds will allow guarantees of at least 1.5 billion Danish kroner and are part of the Danish government’s 2026 financial proposal.
