Russian forces continue attempts to pressure Kupiansk from the northern direction, but the effectiveness of these actions is currently lower than the occupiers expected.
This was reported in a television broadcast by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Group.
“They (the Russians — ed.) are trying to push into the city (Kupiansk) from the north, exerting pressure through Holubivka, but with less effectiveness than they may have expected earlier. The situation in this regard remains stable; it is just that their effectiveness is declining,” Trehubov said.
According to him, Russian forces still maintain small groups directly inside Kupiansk and continue attempts to pressure the city from the northern direction.
“They have set for themselves in their promises and reports that there is an advance in a certain direction, and even if there is none in reality, they are simply trying to demonstrate it through troop movements,” the spokesperson noted.
Trehubov added that a similar situation is typical across the entire Kharkiv region. According to him, Russian maps and statements often do not correspond to the real situation on the Lyman, Kupiansk, and South Slobozhanskyi directions.
