The Drone Deal includes a unique protection system consisting, in particular, of drones to repel mass attacks, as well as air defense (AD) and electronic warfare (EW) systems. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during an interview for the national telethon United News.
The Head of State noted that the Drone Deal is a multi-year cooperation program between Ukraine and partner countries, aimed at providing expertise and support in defending against large-scale attacks on critical and civilian infrastructure.
“We have already agreed on 10-year contracts with three key countries: Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. We have also received requests from 11 more countries—from the Middle East and the Gulf, and we are gradually looking toward the Caucasus,” the President said.
According to Zelenskyy, the Drone Deal will include at least 10 different contracts for the export of Ukrainian weapons. It also предусматривает co-production—the construction of production lines both in Ukraine and abroad, joint development of new technologies, agreements on annual financing volumes, and clearly defined durations of cooperation.
“Second, these are my steps and then the steps of the entire team—the European dimension. Europe is the beginning of our work with Germany, Norway, Italy, as well as the Nordic countries—Norway, Sweden—and the Netherlands. This is already what we see and understand. Of course, we have strong relations with the United Kingdom and France. I am confident that all this will also take place there,” the President added.
Zelenskyy emphasized that such cooperation is mutually beneficial. For example, key agreements with leaders of Middle Eastern and Gulf countries include missiles for Patriot systems and assistance in strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience.
“With Norway, we are talking about gas. With Romania, we will complete the relevant infrastructure—also gas and electricity. And our Middle Eastern partners can fully cover the issue of oil shortages,” the President stressed.
