In the first three months of 2026, Ukrainian seaports handled more than 21 million tons of cargo, achieving 98% of the planned target.
This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine’s Recovery and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba.
“For the first quarter of 2026, Ukrainian ports fulfilled 98% of their cargo transshipment plan—over 21 million tons of cargo. These results were achieved under difficult conditions. Since the beginning of the year, ports have been attacked on average every five days,” Kuleba wrote.
According to him, as a result, 193 infrastructure facilities and 25 civilian vessels have been damaged. At the same time, port operations have not stopped.
The main share of cargo handling traditionally consists of grain shipments—more than 11.6 million tons. The metal products segment is also operating steadily, with 1.2 million tons handled.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted growth in container transport: in the first three months of the year, more than 63,000 TEU were processed, which is 43% more than in the same period last year.
In addition, since the launch of the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor in September 2023, more than 190 million tons of cargo have been transported through it, including over 110 million tons of grain.
“These results are first and foremost the daily work of people who ensure the functioning of ports under difficult conditions. We, for our part, continue working to maintain stable port operations and support key logistics routes,” Kuleba concluded.
