Ukrainian boxer in the light welterweight division, Andrii Boryshpolets, secured a high-profile early victory in the Italian city of Orbetello. In the main event of the boxing evening held in Orbetello, the Ukrainian, nicknamed “Shark,” defeated local favorite Stefano Ramundo and claimed the vacant IBO Continental championship belt, according to Boxing Mechanism.
The fight was highly competitive and intense, lasting almost the full scheduled distance of 10 rounds. However, the boxers did not reach the final bell. After a very active ninth three-minute round, Boryshpolets increased pressure to the maximum in the final tenth round.
During one of the exchanges, the Ukrainian delivered a powerful series of punches to the body and head of the Italian fighter, finishing it with a precise uppercut. Ramundo was unable to defend against the attack, after which the referee began the count and, two minutes before the end of the bout, awarded Andrii a technical knockout victory.

This triumph was an important one for the 34-year-old Ukrainian, as it ended a difficult period in his career and brought him back into the “winning column.” Before this fight, Boryshpolets last competed in June 2025, when he lost for the second time in a row to Yanis Kurilenko in a rematch by majority decision. At the end of 2024, Andrii also lost to Kurilenko by split decision, which cost him the Ukrainian championship titles and the former WBC Ukraine belt he had won in September 2024 in a fight against Nazri Rakhimov.
Thanks to this impressive victory in Italy, Andrii Boryshpolets’ professional record now stands at 12 wins (five by knockout) and four losses in 16 bouts. Stefano Ramundo’s record after this defeat has dropped to 18 wins and three losses.
