Ukraine strikes Russian military industry and fuel infrastructure near Moscow

On May 16 and during the night of May 17, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of important facilities belonging to the Russian forces, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

“The Angstrom enterprise in Zelenograd, Moscow region, Russia, was hit. The company specializes in the production of high-tech products and microchips for precision weapons. A fire was recorded on the facility’s premises. The enterprise is an important component of the Russian military-industrial complex and is involved in the production of microelectronics, radio electronics, optical systems, and robotics for the enemy’s military needs,” the statement said on the Telegram channel.

Also in the Moscow region, the Solnechnogorskaya pumping station was struck. It is a critical part of the ring oil-product pipeline around Moscow and is used for pumping, storing, and shipping large volumes of gasoline and diesel fuel, including supplies for the Russian army. A fire was reported on the facility’s premises.

 

 

The General Staff noted that Ukrainian-developed systems were used to strike targets in the Moscow region, including the RS-1 “Bars,” FP-1 “Firepoint,” and BARS-SM “GLADIATOR,” among others.

Among other targets, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian command post near Bunge in Donetsk region, as well as Russian UAV control points near Dvorichna in Kharkiv region, Zavitne in Kherson region, and Udachne in Donetsk region.

In addition, Ukrainian troops struck concentrations of Russian personnel near Myrne in Donetsk region, Krasnohirske in Zaporizhzhia region, and Volfynske in Russia’s Kursk region, as well as two concentrations of Russian forces near Novoekonomichne in Donetsk region.
