President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed two decrees enacting the decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the application of personal, special economic, and other restrictive measures.
The first decree concerns pro-Russian propagandists – 14 individuals who justify Russia’s armed aggression, deny the occupation of Ukrainian territories, and are financed through profits from the coal industry in the temporarily occupied areas of Donbas.
The second decree imposes sanctions on producers and suppliers of Russia’s military-industrial complex – 10 individuals and 31 legal entities that are residents of Russia, China, and Iran. Among them are companies, their executives, and owners involved in supplying equipment and components to Russia in circumvention of sanctions. Sanctions have also been applied to Iranian state bodies and legal entities that have supplied military products to Russia.
Ukraine continues to work on introducing new sanction steps, synchronizing partner sanctions within Ukrainian jurisdiction, and aligning Ukraine’s sanctions within partner jurisdictions. Among our country’s key priorities are preventing the supply of components to Russia’s defense industry, reducing its oil revenues, countering the shadow fleet, and combating Russian propaganda.
“Since the beginning of the year, we have synchronized 11 sanction packages with our partners – six with our colleagues from the European Union. Also with the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Next month, we will complete the synchronization efforts. We will fulfil all our plans and obligations. It is now very important for us to ensure coordination among the G7 countries,” said the President of Ukraine during the briefing on sanctions.
