A third competition of investment projects for the reconstruction of Ukraine is being launched in cooperation with the Swiss private sector. The total budget for grant support amounts to 50 million Swiss francs.

On April 30, Ukraine’s Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksii Sobolev and the Delegate of the Swiss Federal Council for Ukraine Jacques Gerber signed a corresponding memorandum between the Ministry of Economy and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO), which officially launches the third competition.

“While the previous stage was primarily focused on restoring public and municipal infrastructure, now we are making a systemic emphasis on supporting the private sector and market-based solutions. Together with the Ministry of Economy, this grant program in Ukraine will also be coordinated by UkraineInvest,” Oleksii Sobolev emphasized.

It is expected that projects under the new competition will focus on construction, mechanical engineering, renewable energy, infrastructure, industrial production, agribusiness, IT, and digitalization.

As a result of the first competition, 12 projects worth 93 million Swiss francs are already being financed and implemented in the fields of energy, housing, transport, healthcare, and humanitarian demining.

For the second competition, 37 proposals were submitted with a total funding request of 443 million Swiss francs—nearly three times higher than the available budget.

In addition, Minister Oleksii Sobolev and Jacques Gerber discussed the possibility of Switzerland joining the Industrial Alliance, which Ukraine is developing together with partners within the framework of the “Industrial Ramstein” initiative. Germany recently officially joined this program.
