On the night of February 3, Russian forces launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on Odessa and the Odessa region, striking energy and civilian infrastructure in the southern part of the region.

The attack was reported by Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

According to him, the strikes caused significant damage to energy facilities, leaving more than 50,000 residents temporarily without electricity. Emergency power outages were introduced, and energy crews immediately began restoration work.

As a result of the attack, three residential buildings were damaged, along with warehouse and administrative facilities and several passenger vehicles. Despite the destruction, no fatalities or injuries were reported. Critical infrastructure continues to operate using backup generators.

Ukraine’s largest private energy company, DTEK Group, also confirmed the damage. In a statement published on Telegram, the company said that Russian forces had once again targeted energy facilities in the Odessa region.

“Odessa region: the enemy has once again struck energy facilities. The damage is significant, and restoration will take time. Our crews are working on site,” the statement read.

Earlier reports indicated that the February 3 attack was nationwide in scope. Russian forces targeted eight regions of Ukraine, using more than 70 missiles and over 450 strike drones. Among the primary targets were power generation and heat supply facilities across the country.
