The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed a series of precision strikes targeting Russian air defense systems, command posts, and troop concentrations in occupied Crimea and other Russian-controlled areas of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff’s Facebook report, on March 8 and during the night of March 9, Ukrainian forces struck multiple air defense assets in Crimea. The Middle-Strike units of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces destroyed four radar stations in occupied Crimea and a command post of a Russian Marine Brigade in Donetsk.

Among the destroyed targets were the 5N84A “Oborona-14” radar, the Nebo-U radar, and two radomes in Yevpatoria, Crimea, as well as elements of a Russian command post in Zachativka, Donetsk. Radomes allow radar antennas to rotate while concealing their orientation, so their destruction significantly undermines the Russia’s ability to detect and engage aerial targets.

Ukrainian forces additionally struck a Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system near Lymanchuk in Luhansk region. Command and observation posts of Russian units were hit in several locations, including near Donetsk, Zaporizke, Chervonoselivka, Hoholivka in Zaporizhzhia region, and Zachativka in Donetsk region.

Russian troop concentrations were targeted near Rodynske and Poltavka in Donetsk region, as well as Petropavlivka in Kharkiv region. Ukrainian Special Operations Forces continue asymmetric actions designed to strategically exhaust the Russia’s combat capabilities.

The General Staff noted that the extent of damage and further operational results are still being clarified.
