Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out widespread attacks across multiple regions of Ukraine, targeting towns, villages, and critical infrastructure. The strikes have resulted in civilian casualties, destruction of homes, and interruptions to essential services.
Kyiv Region
The city of Slavutych in Kyiv region temporarily lost electricity after a Russian strike targeted energy infrastructure, reported Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. Around 21,000 residents were affected. Water supply, social services, and internet remained operational via generators, and critical infrastructure was switched to backup power. Authorities assured that restoration work would begin as soon as security conditions allow.
Zaporizhzhia Region
According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Russian forces carried out 872 strikes on 34 settlements in the region. A 46-year-old man was injured in an attack on the Zaporizhzhia district.
Fedorov detailed that the attacks included 22 airstrikes, 606 UAV strikes of various types—mostly FPV drones—239 artillery strikes, and five attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems. The strikes affected settlements including Komyshuvakha, Novoyakovlivka, Samiylivka, Lisne, Zirka, Lyubitske, Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, and others. Authorities recorded 34 reports of damage to homes, infrastructure, and vehicles.
Kherson Region
Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported that five people were injured in Russian attacks over the past day. The strikes affected numerous communities, including Beryslav, Chornobaivka, Novovorontsovka, Antonivka, and more. Damage was reported to five apartment buildings, six private homes, one administrative building, a shop, an office, and various utility structures. Residents continue to cope with the aftermath of artillery, UAV, and air attacks.
Sumy Region
Russian forces conducted 95 attacks across 26 settlements in 13 communities. Six children, aged between 4 and 11, received medical treatment following drone attacks, along with several adults injured by guided bombs in Shostka community on April 3. The strikes caused damage to private homes, multi-apartment buildings, administrative offices, and civil infrastructure, particularly in Shostka, Svesa, Znob-Novhorod, Berezivka, Esman, and Velykopysarivka.
Kharkiv Region
Kharkiv and 19 other settlements in the region came under attacks, resulting in four injuries. Victims include women aged 60 and 89 in Kharkiv, a 56-year-old woman in Chuhuiv, and a 59-year-old man in Velykyi Burluk, according to Kharkiv OMA head Oleh Synehubov.
The attacks involved KAB guided bombs, Geran-2 and Molniya UAVs, and FPV drones. The strikes caused significant damage to seven apartment buildings, energy networks, office buildings, private homes, administrative facilities, shops, and even a hotel in various districts, including Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Izyum, and Chuhuiv.
Donetsk Region
Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, confirmed that one resident of Lyman was killed by Russian forces on April 5. The overall number of casualties in the region now stands at 4,022 dead and 9,265 injured, excluding incidents in Mariupol and Volnovakha.
Dnipropetrovsk Region
Alexander Ganja, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported over 30 attacks across three districts, including Nikopol, Synelnykove, and Kryvyi Rih. Infrastructure damage included utility facilities, shops, private homes, garages, vehicles, and pharmacies. No casualties were reported.
Chernihiv Region
Russian strikes overnight and in the morning targeted energy facilities, leaving most districts in Chernihiv region without power. Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, stated that cities and communities switched to alternative power sources to maintain critical infrastructure. Restoration of electricity will begin as soon as the security situation allows.
