A meeting was held in Lviv between the city leadership and a delegation from Norway, headed by Jorun Nossum, Head of the Nansen Support Programme for Ukraine at Norad.
This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
“Today a delegation from Norway visited Lviv, led by Jorun Nossum, Head of the Nansen Support Programme for Ukraine at Norad. At City Hall, she met with Mayor Andriy Sadovyi and his deputy for international cooperation, Serhiy Kiral. During the meeting, the Mayor of Lviv presented projects already implemented within the UNBROKEN humanity ecosystem, and possible areas of cooperation were discussed,” the statement reads.
Nossum noted that the visit was very important for her, as it helps her understand how the programme can support the city.
“My country is implementing a support programme for Ukraine, both military and humanitarian. I am responsible for the non-military part, so we are ready to discuss the projects that are your priority,” she said.
For his part, Kiral stated that several of Lviv’s projects worth several million euros in the fields of energy, education, social housing construction, and healthcare are already in the implementation phase.
“In particular, just two weeks ago we received approval for funding of about 3 million euros for the purchase of additional energy equipment from the Energy Support Fund,” the Lviv official said.
According to him, Norway is today a strategic partner of Ukraine and Lviv, and the city has already built several bridges with Norwegian cities and institutions.
“Some projects we have already started implementing, and today we agreed on the next stages of cooperation,” said the deputy mayor of Lviv
