At least 30 people were injured in a Russian missile attack on Lviv early in the morning, according to regional and city authorities. The strike caused extensive damage to residential buildings, while rescue operations remain underway.
The attack occurred at around 4:45 a.m., with some of the heaviest damage reported on Patona and Vyhovskoho streets, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said.
Two residential buildings were particularly badly damaged, while fires broke out following the strikes. Rescue teams are continuing to search the rubble and free people trapped beneath the debris.
According to Lviv Regional Military Administration head Maksym Kozytskyi, the number of people injured in the attack has risen to 30. At least 15 people were hospitalized. Children are among the injured, with at least one child taken to hospital.
Overall, more than 20 residential buildings were damaged in Lviv, as well as a school and two kindergartens.
Emergency services remain at the scene, and the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
