Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov said that North Korea is improving its weapons based on experience gained from combat operations in Ukraine.
He made the remarks in an interview with Newsforce, according to his Telegram channel.
“North Korea is learning from our war and arming itself. The world must see this connection while there is still time. It has long been known that, in addition to supplying weapons and materials to Russia, North Korea is sending its troops to fight directly against Ukraine. At the same time, North Korea itself is improving its weapons based on the experience of combat operations in Ukraine. It is also introducing new types of weapons into service, some of which are Russian-made,” he said.
According to Budanov, North Korea has already established mass production of one-way attack drones. In his view, this does nothing to contribute to stability on the Korean Peninsula.
“When you see the North Korean regime militarising so rapidly, the natural question is: why? First and foremost, to be ready for active hostilities in its own region. Incidentally, another incident occurred quite recently along the demarcation line between the Republic of Korea and North Korea. The situation is escalating every day. And it is only a matter of time before a triggering event could occur that leads to uncontrollable consequences,” he added.
