Russia’s Krasnodar region came under a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack overnight on 28 September.
“Falling drone debris caused fires at three civilian infrastructure facilities in the Dinskaya, Pavlovskaya and Krasnoarmeyskaya districts,” the regional operational headquarters reported, adding that no casualties were recorded.
Based on eyewitness footage, Astra identified one of the targets as an oil depot in the village of Novotitarovskaya in the Dinskaya district, around 25 kilometres from Krasnodar.
The facility belongs to Edelweiss-95, a company engaged in the wholesale trade of petroleum products. According to the company’s website, it purchases products directly from some of Russia’s largest oil refineries. The depot stores Euro-5 diesel fuel as well as AI-92, AI-95 and AI-100 petrol.
According to Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+, drones also attacked the Pavlovskaya oil depot operated by Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt. The facility is located in the industrial zone of the village of Pavlovskaya and handles around 150,000 tonnes of fuel annually.
The oil depot in Novotitarovskaya had already been targeted by drones on 24 September. According to the regional operational headquarters, a fire broke out at the facility at the time as a result of “falling UAV debris.”
That same night, drones also struck an oil depot in the Kagalnitsky district of Russia’s Rostov region.
