The first two mobile cogeneration units have arrived in Kyiv, providing heat and electricity to 86,000 residents most affected by unprecedented Russian attacks.

An additional 41 cogeneration units with a total capacity of 40.8 MW and 76 modular boiler plants totaling 89 MW will be delivered to Ukraine as soon as possible, supporting millions of people across the country with heat and power.

The aid package also includes:

  • 300 solar power stations with battery storage for social infrastructure
  • 375 battery storage units for backup electricity
  • 15 mobile hybrid generators
  • 10 pellet heating systems
  • 45 municipal and maintenance vehicles for urgent repairs to power, water, and heating networks

German and Ukrainian partners are coordinating the deliveries to ensure the assistance reaches people quickly.

“Ensuring timely support for our citizens amid the energy crisis caused by constant Russian attacks and severe cold is crucial. I thank Germany for this substantial and prompt assistance. The cogeneration units we are receiving today will strengthen the energy security of our communities,” said Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko.

“Russia’s continuous attacks on civilian energy infrastructure are a war crime,” emphasized German Ambassador Heiko Thoms. “Germany is committed to strengthening Ukraine’s resilience by all possible means.”

Germany is one of Ukraine’s largest partners, having provided over €1 billion in energy support since the start of the full-scale invasion. This winter alone, €60 million has been allocated for humanitarian needs and €167 million for the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund.

The courage and determination of the Ukrainian people are remarkable, and Germany remains unwavering in its support for Ukraine.
