Investment in defense and deterrence must be carried out in cooperation with Ukraine, said Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen during the Nordic-Baltic summit in Tallinn.
“We must integrate Ukraine’s defense industry even more closely into the European one. Ukraine is constantly developing new technologies and capabilities, from which we should take an example,” the Prime Minister noted.
It is reported that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also participating in the Nordic-Baltic summit.
“Ukraine is defending its country and our free, open, and democratic Europe with incredible strength. Russia’s aggression affects the security of all Europe—hybrid actions, threats, and constant attempts to divide us. It is crucial that we strengthen our defense capabilities and resilience, and demonstrate strength and unity across the Nordic and Baltic countries,” Frederiksen emphasized.
The summit is held within the framework of Nordic-Baltic cooperation (Nordic-Baltic Eight), which includes the heads of state and government of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
