Ukraine’s Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitalii Koval, met with representatives of the Danish Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU) (Denmark), including Soren Moller, head of the Kyiv office, and Investment Director Oleksii Parkhomchuk. Deputy Minister Oksana Osmochko also took part in the meeting.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector.
Vitalii Koval emphasized that Ukraine’s agricultural sector, even under wartime conditions, has proven to be a foundation for the stability of rural areas, the economy, and the country as a whole.
“Today, it is vital for us to maintain the functionality of the agricultural sector, especially in frontline regions, which are among the Ministry’s priorities. We also need to develop agricultural processing and bioenergy projects, which are now a focus of the Ministry. In addition, we are actively transforming the agricultural sector as part of Ukraine’s European integration. That is why Denmark’s experience is very valuable to us,” said Koval.
The meeting focused on potential areas for investment cooperation, including:
- construction of vegetable storage facilities;
- biomass processing into biogas and biomethane;
- meat processing projects;
- modernization of dairy processing enterprises;
- irrigation projects.
Vitalii Koval also thanked the Danish Investment Fund representatives for supporting Ukrainian farmers.
“This is a landmark meeting. Our cooperation will help the Ukrainian agricultural sector recover and transition to a new level, moving toward becoming an agro-industrial country,” the Minister emphasized.
For their part, IFU representatives expressed openness and readiness to implement investment projects in the agricultural sector.
