Defence Intelligence: Russia plans to disrupt Ukraine’s “drone deals” with partners

Ukraine has received Russian documents outlining directions for countering Russia’s contacts with partners within the framework of 'drone deals,' President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said following a report by the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Oleh Ivashchenko.

According to the head of state, an updated assessment of Russian export losses from Ukrainian long-range sanctions has been recorded, namely: the Primorsk port – minus 13% in loading, Novorossiysk – minus 38%, and Ust-Luga – minus 43%.

“We believe that such internal Russian data may be underestimated. At the same time, we will continue the operation to reduce Russian oil revenues and export volumes,” the President emphasized.

As Zelenskyy noted, “we have received Russian documents that define their directions for countering our contacts with partners within the framework of drone deals.”

Russia’s political leadership has already identified as one of its main challenges Ukraine’s ability to attract additional investment. The deprivation of Ukraine’s access to investment and the disruption of bilateral agreements on security cooperation and weapons production are defined by Russia as a foreign policy priority. Russia’s special efforts in this context will be directed at countering Ukraine’s cooperation in the Middle East and the Gulf region, the head of state noted.

“The third aspect is that Russian contingents in African countries have increased by an additional 8,000 personnel in recent times, and Russia is trying in each country of presence to introduce the use of drones through supply, local production, and training. According to our assessment, the expansion of such military activity by Russia may inevitably lead, unfortunately, to the modernization and strengthening of terrorist organizations, cross-border crime, and instability in regions critical for migration worldwide. It is important to jointly counter this—we will coordinate with partners,” Zelenskyy said.
