Over the past month, the Angel One Fund has invested in three Ukrainian startups: one in the civilian sector and two in defense technology through syndicated agreements.
According to a press release from the fund, the size of the investment in each team remains within the standard average check of Angel One. The funds raised will be directed toward improving technologies, expanding production, and entering new markets.
The fund’s managing partner, Ivan Petrenko, explains the choice of projects as part of a broader market trend toward automation.
“Today, the winners are not necessarily those who create the best products, but rather those who eliminate entire roles, constraints, and delays. AiSDR eliminates the need for a sales team, the DoD Solution reduces reliance on GPS and communications, and Deftak shortens the time between detection and defeat. While these are different markets, they all follow the same logic, and we are committed to investing in these transformative shifts,” he notes.
In the civilian sector, the AiSDR startup received investment. It is an AI-based platform that fully automates lead generation: from finding and analyzing potential clients to sending personalized messages and scheduling meetings. The company will use the funds to accelerate product development.
In the defense technology segment, the fund supported the Estonian-Ukrainian startup DoD Solution, which is developing the AURA autonomy platform for drones. The technology, which includes proprietary single-board computers and an AI stack for navigation, allows drones to operate without GPS or communication in conditions of active electronic warfare. The team plans to use the funding to develop the platform, create new hardware, and expand into international markets.
Another defense-tech project in the fund’s portfolio is the Ukrainian startup Deftak. The team is developing munitions capable of autonomously locking onto a target after release using a camera, adjusting their flight trajectory. This solution allows ordinary reconnaissance drones to be converted into strike UAVs. The investment will go toward scaling production.
Representatives of Angel One Fund were introduced to the developers of the defense solutions DoD Solution and Deftak during one of the Brave1 platform events.
