The situation in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov remains largely unchanged — Russian ships and submarines are staying at their base, while aviation continues active operations.
This was stated on television by Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The situation at sea remains unchanged. Russian enemy ships remain at their base in Novorossiysk, as do the submarines. Aviation is, unfortunately, active as usual, but the situation has not undergone any sharp changes,” Pletenchuk said.
According to him, ship movements mainly take place within their deployment areas in order to protect them from Ukrainian strikes or to disperse forces.
“Movements occur mostly within the place of deployment… or at most they may enter Tsemes Bay for the purpose of dispersal,” he noted.
The spokesperson added that weather conditions currently do not critically affect the enemy’s actions, although during storms the use of ship-launched missiles becomes more complicated. At the same time, the Russians actively use reconnaissance drones.
“Weather conditions do not have a critical impact… The Russians use not only operational-tactical aviation, they also employ reconnaissance drones on a constant basis,” Pletenchuk explained.
He also reported that submarines of the Russian fleet have not been used for a long time, likely due to technical limitations and the need to preserve their service life.
