President Volodymyr Zelensky and Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten have signed an agreement on defense cooperation. The signing took place on April 16 during an online broadcast.
“Ukrainians and we want to further develop our industries together so that it is beneficial both for Ukraine and for us. We will strengthen our capabilities, and Dutch industry will play a major role in this,” Jetten said at a press conference following the meeting with Zelensky.
He noted that Amsterdam will invest €482 million in defense cooperation.
Zelensky added that Ukraine’s proposal is a “Drone Deal.” This concerns not only the production of drones themselves, but also comprehensive development: protection of the skies from missiles and drones, development of electronic warfare (EW), and joint weapons production in the Netherlands. The parties also agreed to cooperate on further protection and development of Ukraine’s energy sector, including its decentralization. According to the Ukrainian leader, there is already a first draft for these actions.
