The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has approved a €4.13 million grant to support Superhumans centers in Dnipro and Odessa, according to the bank’s website.
“Since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion, tens of thousands of Ukrainians have sustained life-changing injuries. The current shortage of specialised rehabilitation services in Ukraine forces many patients to travel long distances to Lviv or even abroad, often incurring significant financial and emotional burdens,” the EBRD statement says.
The organization plans to open a medical center in Odessa in mid-2026, designed to serve 600 new patients per year, with follow-up support for up to 1,200 people annually. The launch of the Odessa center is expected to expand access to multidisciplinary rehabilitation services in southern Ukraine.

Currently, Superhumans war trauma centers operate in Lviv and Dnipro: the first opened in April 2023, and the second in June 2025. Together, they can accommodate up to 2,000 patients per year.
Superhumans is a nationwide war trauma center, specializing since 2022 in prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, rehabilitation, and psychological support for adults and children affected by the war.
The organization collaborates with Ukraine’s Ministry of Health on updating care protocols and training medical staff, supports state hospitals through international medical missions and specialist training—including prosthetists—and works with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Ministry of Economy on veteran support and reintegration programmes.
