On February 11, the Swiss Federal Council approved an energy assistance package for Ukraine worth up to 32 million Swiss francs (over $35 million), according to the Swiss government press service.
The package, requested by the Ukrainian government, will be used to procure, deliver, and install 18 gas-powered power modules, along with auxiliary equipment and consumables. These modules will be connected to district heating enterprises in four major cities that were particularly affected by the energy crisis.
Swiss companies will also supply about 80 diesel generators of various capacities. Some of these generators will be delivered to Ukraine’s Ministry for Communities and Territories Development for distribution according to priority, while additional generators and mobile heaters will be provided to the State Emergency Service.
Deliveries will take place in the coming weeks under the supervision of the Swiss Federal Council’s delegate for Ukraine.
This humanitarian energy aid from the Swiss private sector is part of Switzerland’s 2025–2028 cooperation program with Ukraine. Since February 2022, Switzerland has allocated 900 million Swiss francs for international cooperation in Ukraine and neighboring countries.
