During the “Road to URC – Security and Defence Dimension” conference in Rzeszów, the Deputy Minister of National Defence emphasized in an interview with the Polish Press Agency (PAP) that Ukraine currently serves as a unique testing ground due to its direct contact with a foreign army. According to Tomczyk, equipment produced in Poland should first be tested on domestic training ranges and then in real combat conditions on the battlefield, according to Defence24.
“This is a real picture of what works and what doesn’t,” Tomczyk said.
The second pillar of the relationship is to be the exchange of technology. He pointed to the company WB Electronics as an example of an entity already cooperating with Ukraine, while noting the need to scale up these efforts. The ministry’s goal is to develop a model based on symbiosis and the creation of a shared technological advantage, while maintaining priority support for a neighboring country engaged in active combat.
When asked about the possibility of joint drone production in Poland, Tomczyk confirmed that such an option exists. He noted that this requires a specific cooperation model that benefits both countries and takes into account Ukraine’s needs as a country requiring military assistance.
