Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced cooperation between Poland and Ukraine aimed at creating a modern drone army, according to Interia Wydarzenia.
“I am proud that today I can open together with you this new chapter in the development of Polish security, and I am proud that our partner in this project is a country that has the greatest experience in what today determines the fate in the air,” Tusk said at the “Road to URC” conference in Rzeszów.
He emphasized that during the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Ukraine has proven to be a partner for countries seeking to defend their airspace. The Polish drone army, Tusk noted, is intended to support both the country and its allies. The goal is “that this unexpected for the Russians consequence of the war becomes the actual leap over an entire technological era.”
“Poland must have a drone armada so that we can not only help Ukraine today, but also say with full confidence to Polish citizens: we are safe. We are safe also thanks to initiatives like those taking place today in Rzeszów,” he said.
