The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, met with the Commander of the National Armed Forces of the Republic of Latvia, Major General Kaspars Pudāns, and informed his counterpart that instead of a war of attrition model, Ukraine’s Defense Forces are choosing an asymmetric strategy.

“In conditions where the enemy has greater resources in equipment, weapons, and manpower, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are choosing an asymmetric strategy instead of a war of attrition model,” Syrskyi wrote.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that:

“the key tasks are to make every move of the enemy as costly as possible, to destroy the adversary, to contain its advance, to strike rear areas, including military-industrial complex facilities deep within the territory of the Russian Federation using Deep Strike capabilities, and to protect Ukraine’s airspace.”

He also thanked the government and people of Latvia for their consistent support and significant political, financial, and military assistance to Ukraine.

“We highly appreciate Latvia’s substantial contribution to the implementation of the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) program. I also expressed gratitude for Latvia’s leading role in the Drone Coalition, as well as its active position in the IT Coalition in support of Ukraine,” he wrote.

According to the Commander-in-Chief:

“it is extremely important to continue effective support for Ukraine by partner countries. We count on further cooperation in the interests of peace and security of the entire united Europe.”
