The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), Lieutenant General Vasyl Maliuk, during a meeting with representatives of the G7 member countries, stated that the SSU will continue to root out Russian agents from any Ukrainian state institution.

This was reported by the SSU.

The meeting was also attended by Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko and the Director of the State Bureau of Investigations Oleksii Sukhachov.

According to Maliuk, the SSU’s priority task during the war is to combat Russian agents and prevent the influence of enemy intelligence services in any state institutions of Ukraine. At the same time, Maliuk emphasized that the SSU acts strictly within the law and in the interests of Ukraine’s national security.

“In the conditions of full-scale war, the presence of Russian Federation agents in any state body is completely unacceptable. We make no exceptions and will continue to root out hostile influence everywhere. The NABU (National Anti-Corruption Bureau) also needs to be cleansed of the influence of hostile intelligence services. We will continue to work on this together with the bureau’s leadership, actively assisting them,” Maliuk said.

The head of the security service thanked the G7 countries for their cooperation during the full-scale invasion and for supporting Ukraine in such a difficult, historic time.

Maliuk also added that the SSU and the Prosecutor General’s Office have collected a solid evidentiary base regarding all suspected employees of NABU. In particular, yesterday the SSU detained a Russian “mole” in one of the elite units of the State Bureau of Investigations, as well as the head of the interregional detective departments of NABU, who is suspected of aiding Russia.

Additionally, a suspect in absentia for state treason was announced against fugitive MP from OPZZh, Fedor Khristenko, who, according to the investigation, had direct influence over the activities of the anti-corruption agency.

“Proper procedural guidance was carried out and the legality of all collected evidence was verified. All investigative actions were conducted in full compliance with current legislation. The court also confirmed the legality of the obtained evidence and the validity of the suspicions. For the Prosecutor General’s Office, as well as for colleagues from the SSU and SBI, adherence to the law comes first. We act exclusively within the boundaries and manner prescribed by law,” noted the Prosecutor General.

Representatives of the G7 countries received answers to their questions about the work of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies and, in particular, the recent special operation by the SSU and PGO to neutralize Russian influence on NABU.

“The SBI, SSU, and PGO continue joint work to counter crimes in the highest echelons of power. And we will perform our work effectively regardless of which structures and positions our suspects occupy,” stated the Director of the SBI.

Maliuk also discussed with the G7 representatives recent results of the SSU’s combat operations. In particular, he shared details of the unique special operation “Spider Web,” which resulted in the destruction of 41 Russian strategic aviation aircraft, as well as the third strike on the Crimean Bridge.

In addition, the head of the SSU noted that the SSU’s Special Operations Center “A” consistently ranks among the top 3 best units of the Defense Forces in destroying Russian equipment using drones, and SSU combat units relentlessly destroy the enemy both on the front line and deep behind enemy lines.
