Finland has announced support for the reform of the education system in Ukraine in the amount of €20 million as part of the Learning2gether2 project, which will be implemented in 2026–2029.

According to the press service of the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs,

“Finland is boosting its support for the reform of Ukraine’s education system through Learning2gether2. The project is a EUR 20 million investment in Ukraine’s EU approximation, reconstruction and long-term education reform,” the statement reads.

It is noted that the project will accelerate the large-scale “New Ukrainian School” reform, focusing on general secondary education (grades 10–12). The goal is to improve learning outcomes, enhance teacher training, and ensure access to quality education for all citizens of Ukraine, regardless of their origin or place of residence.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was closely involved in all stages of the project planning and is its key owner. It is emphasized that the project highlights Finland’s role in providing long-term and substantial support to Ukraine’s education sector.

“Making sure that young people have access to education is one way of supporting Ukraine's reconstruction and is an investment in the country’s future. Education builds hope and will boost Ukraine’s productivity and competitiveness,” said Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio.
