Heat supply has been cut off for 10,000 subscribers in the city of Dnipro as a result of a massive attack by Russian forces on Ukraine’s civilian and energy infrastructure overnight on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba reported.

“An alternative source of heat supply is currently being launched. Modular boiler units are being activated for social institutions,” Kuleba wrote on Telegram.

In Odessa, he said, about 300,000 people have been left without water supply due to power outages. Nearly 200 buildings are without heating.

“Work is underway to restart the systems, and where possible, backup power sources are being used,” the deputy prime minister noted.

In Kyiv, heat-generating facilities once again became the target of the Russian forces. As a result of the attack, heat supply has been suspended for about 2,600 residential buildings in several districts of the city.

“Another 1,100 buildings remain without heating due to previous massive shelling and damage to the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant. Water supply and sewage systems are operating,” he said.

According to Kuleba, energy workers, rescuers, and municipal services are working on the ground, and efforts to restore heating and water supply are ongoing around the clock.
