On February 25, 2026, at 6:00 PM, Rue de la Loi 89 in Brussels will host a special screening of Kherson: Human Safari, a frontline documentary by US war correspondent Zarina Zabrisky. Filmed in the embattled city of Kherson, Ukraine, the film investigates the deliberate targeting of civilians with drones, shedding light on a disturbing new form of war crime.

While exploring the severity of the conflict, Kherson: Human Safari also highlights the resilience of its citizens, capturing moments of dance, music, and acts of defiance amid the devastation.

Following the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an in-person discussion with director Zarina Zabrisky and a panel of distinguished guests.

The documentary has already received acclaim from international figures:

  • “This film is a call to the global conscience,” said Hans Petter Midttun, former Defense Attaché of Norway to Ukraine.
  • Bishop Nicodemus of Kherson and Tavria praised Zabrisky for conveying “the inner sense of what’s happening in the city and the overall mood of its people.”
  • Investigative journalist Greg Palast described it as “heartbreakingly artistic, original, moving, and too important to ignore.”
  • Former CIA officer Christopher Burgess called it “not just documentation. It is an indictment. A monument. A wound carried forward.”
  • Award-winning author Jen Stout recommended the film as “remarkable,” offering an inside view of a city under constant siege.
  • Documentary filmmaker Jacques Dupont noted, “A must-see, extraordinary documentary… it conveys a certain majesty and grandeur, not unlike the one we experience with a great book or movie. A very rare and precious human tale.”

The screening promises a powerful look at the human stories behind the headlines and a chance for Brussels audiences to engage directly with the filmmaker.
