The port of Odessa has started implementing the DocPort module for managing cargo truck movement.
According to the press service of the Ukrainian Seaports Authority, this system allows drivers to pre-register passes and send them in a convenient format — directly to their messenger. All that is needed is any device (phone, tablet, laptop) with internet access.
"The main goal of DocPort is to reduce queues at port entrances, minimize truck downtime, stabilize traffic flow, and make cargo handling more efficient," the department explained.
The system allows for storing data on cargo, fleets, preparing entrance documents, controlling queues, and quickly responding to emergency situations, such as vehicle breakdowns.
Additionally, the use of the DocPort system helps minimize paper use and reduces bureaucratic procedures during entrance checks.
"DocPort operates through a controlled entry mechanism: drivers wait in designated areas, where they can activate their passes. As a result, only vehicles that are ready to enter the port receive active passes. All information is stored in a unified database, so drivers and vehicles need to be registered only once — the data will be available at all ports connected to the system (with existing agreements)," the Ukrainian Seaports Authority explained.
The system was developed by the Ukrainian Seaports Authority specialists, and it is free for all market participants, with open access for other companies involved in cargo handling.
