Ukrainian Defence Forces used FP-1 drones to strike several facilities in St Petersburg overnight on October 18, including an oil terminal, the Ruchyi oil depot and a VKontakte data centre.

The drone manufacturer Fire Point reported the strikes.

According to the company, the St Petersburg Oil Terminal is one of the largest oil handling facilities in the region, providing reception, storage and shipment of petroleum products, including for export. Its total handling capacity is 12.5 million tonnes per year.

Fire Point also reported that Ukrainian Defence Forces struck a VKontakte data centre near St Petersburg.

FP-1 drones hit the facility in Novosergievka, Leningrad region. It is one of VKontakte's key data centres, used to store and process data, including photographs, videos and other user-generated content.

According to previously published information, the complex housed more than 20,000 servers and 640 server racks.

Serious damage to the facility has been confirmed, according to Fire Point. VKontakte users have also reported disruptions to the social network's services.

In addition, the Ruchyi oil depot was targeted.

"Fires broke out at the oil terminal and oil depot, while serious damage to the data centre has also been reported," Fire Point stated.
