The slowdown in consumer price growth in Ukraine has continued for the fourth consecutive month. In June, prices decreased by 0.1% compared with May, while the annual inflation rate stood at 7.2%.
This was reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
"Consumer prices in June 2026 decreased by 0.1% compared with May and increased by 7.2% compared with June 2025. Core inflation in June 2026 amounted to 0.5% compared with May and 8.1% compared with June 2025," the statement said.
According to the State Statistics Service, prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 0.8% in June. The biggest drop was recorded for eggs, which became 27.8% cheaper. Prices for vegetables, processed grain products, lard, fruit, sugar, and rice decreased by 3.7–0.6%.
At the same time, prices for sunflower oil increased by 1.7% (up 20.8% year-on-year), while prices for fish and fish products rose by 21.6% annually, pasta products by 10.8%, and bread by 19.4%.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 1.4%, mainly due to a 1.8% rise in tobacco prices.
Clothing and footwear became 2.3% cheaper, including a 3.0% decline in footwear prices and a 1.9% decrease in clothing prices.
The 0.9% increase in prices and tariffs for housing, water supply, electricity, gas, and other fuels was mainly driven by higher water supply tariffs, which rose by 15.3%, and sewerage tariffs, which increased by 14.6%.
Transport prices increased by 0.2%, primarily due to higher fares for rail and road passenger transport, which rose by 3.4% and 1.2%, respectively. At the same time, fuel and lubricants became 1.6% cheaper.
