Ukraine had 82,954 active agricultural companies as of September 2026, with the number of new businesses continuing to exceed closures despite the full-scale war, according to Unified State Register data analysed by Opendatabot.

Between January and August 2026, 853 new agricultural companies were registered, while 262 ceased operations. This means that more than three new agricultural businesses were created for every company that closed during the period.

At the same time, the sector’s financial results present a more complicated picture. Only around 5,800 agricultural companies submitted financial statements for the first half of 2026, 6% fewer than during the same period last year.

Opendatabot identified 5,389 companies that reported results for both the first half of 2025 and the first half of 2026, allowing their performance to be compared directly.

Their combined revenue increased by 19%, from UAH 375.79 billion in the first six months of 2025 to UAH 448.35 billion this year. However, higher revenues did not translate into higher overall profits.

Around 66% of the companies were profitable, but the number of profitable agricultural businesses fell by 8% compared with last year, while the number of loss-making companies increased. Combined net profit reached UAH 66.1 billion, down 19% year-on-year.

Vinnytsia Poultry Farm recorded the highest revenue among agricultural companies included in the analysis, generating UAH 37.47 billion in the first half of 2026. Its revenue increased by UAH 10.66 billion, or almost 40%, compared with the same period last year.

Myronivska Poultry Farm ranked second with revenue of UAH 16.35 billion, followed by Lebedyn Seed Plant with UAH 13.37 billion.

Druzhba-Nova generated UAH 5.66 billion, Zernoprodukt MHP UAH 5.19 billion and Oril-Leader UAH 5.11 billion. The top ten also included Enselko Agro with UAH 4.99 billion, Starynska Poultry Farm with UAH 4.35 billion, Bayer Seeds with UAH 4.11 billion and Interbusiness with UAH 3.92 billion.

Vinnytsia Poultry Farm also recorded the largest increase in revenue in absolute terms, adding UAH 10.66 billion over the year. Lebedyn Seed Plant increased revenue by UAH 4.03 billion, Myronivska Poultry Farm by UAH 3.55 billion and Enselko Agro by UAH 2.8 billion.

The analysis also identified 228 agricultural companies belonging to 32 financial-industrial groups. Agricultural companies within MHP generated the highest combined revenue at UAH 73.79 billion in the first half of 2026.

Kernel followed with UAH 19.11 billion, SP Advisors with UAH 17.82 billion, Agroprosperis with UAH 7.12 billion and Epicentr with UAH 6.39 billion.

These figures do not represent the total revenue of the groups themselves, but only the combined revenue of their agricultural companies that submitted comparable financial statements for both periods.

Among groups whose agricultural companies generated at least UAH 1 billion in revenue last year, Ukrprominvest recorded the strongest percentage growth, rising 69%, or UAH 2.11 billion.

Kernel’s agricultural companies increased revenue by 47%, equivalent to UAH 6.07 billion, while OKKO Group recorded growth of 41%, or UAH 613 million. Agroprosperis increased revenue by 30%, or UAH 1.64 billion, and SP Advisors by 28%, or UAH 3.92 billion.

Revenue declined among agricultural companies belonging to three major groups. Yavir-APK recorded the largest decrease, falling 42%, or UAH 576.3 million. Fozzy Group saw a 7% decline, or UAH 103.4 million, while revenue among agricultural companies within APGK Dniprovska decreased by 2%, or UAH 78.1 million.

Overall, the figures show that Ukraine’s agricultural business sector continues to expand in terms of company registrations and turnover. However, the simultaneous decline in the number of profitable companies and the 19% fall in combined net profit indicate growing pressure on profitability despite rising revenues.
