As of September 29, Ukrainian farmers had harvested more than 34.3 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops from over 7.1 million hectares, or 61% of the projected area, with an average yield of 4.82 tonnes per hectare.
This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
In particular, 26 million tonnes of wheat were harvested from 5.11 million hectares, with an average yield of 5.08 tonnes per hectare.
The barley harvest reached 6.6 million tonnes from 1.48 million hectares, with a yield of 4.46 tonnes per hectare.
Farmers harvested 812,300 tonnes of peas from 301,900 hectares, with a yield of 2.69 tonnes per hectare. The wheat, barley and pea harvests have been completed.
The corn harvest is gaining momentum, with 789,000 tonnes already harvested from 153,300 hectares at a yield of 5.15 tonnes per hectare.
Farmers also harvested 75,400 tonnes of millet from 32,800 hectares, with a yield of 2.3 tonnes per hectare, and 44,700 tonnes of buckwheat from 34,700 hectares, with a yield of 1.3 tonnes per hectare.
Farmers in the Odessa region harvested the largest volume of grain and leguminous crops — 5.6 million tonnes, including 3.8 million tonnes of wheat, 1.48 million tonnes of barley and 294,000 tonnes of peas.
They were followed by farmers in the Dnipropetrovsk region, who harvested 2.76 million tonnes, including 2.04 million tonnes of wheat, 574,600 tonnes of barley and 91,800 tonnes of corn.
In the Mykolaiv region, 2.65 million tonnes of grain were harvested, including 1.87 million tonnes of wheat, 648,700 tonnes of barley and 111,800 tonnes of peas.
Farmers in the Khmelnytskyi region recorded the highest average yield of grain and leguminous crops at 7.02 tonnes per hectare, followed by the Sumy region at 6.09 tonnes per hectare and the Vinnytsia region at 5.92 tonnes per hectare.
The harvesting of oilseed crops is also continuing. Farmers have already harvested more than 8.4 million tonnes in total. This includes 3.87 million tonnes of rapeseed from 1.33 million hectares, with a yield of 2.91 tonnes per hectare. The rapeseed harvest has been completed.
The sunflower harvest reached 3.36 million tonnes from 1.66 million hectares, with a yield of 2.03 tonnes per hectare, while 1.22 million tonnes of soybeans were harvested from 571,400 hectares, with a yield of 2.13 tonnes per hectare.
The sugar beet harvest is also continuing. Farmers have dug up 296,500 tonnes from 5,800 hectares. The average yield stands at 51.12 tonnes per hectare.
