Ukraine’s Security Service (SSU) has arrested two additional FSB agents who were directing Russian airstrikes on Kyiv. The suspects had been using 4G cameras with remote access to help the occupiers track Ukrainian air defense positions and coordinate missile and drone attacks in real time.

Investigations revealed that most of the surveillance devices were installed on upper-floor windows of apartment buildings in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. The agents rented apartments and equipped them with video devices purchased for the operation.

The operatives—a 22-year-old man from Poltava and his 19-year-old wife—were recruited via Telegram channels seeking “easy earnings.” They traveled across northern Ukrainian cities, scouting homes near military sites and critical infrastructure, including key railway stations and mainline tracks, to install cameras.

SSU counterintelligence intercepted the couple before their operation could cause harm, securing the targeted locations. Both suspects were arrested “red-handed” while setting up a camera near a defense facility.

The SSU charged the couple under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 111 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, covering state treason committed during martial law by a premeditated group.

The suspects are being held in custody without bail and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
