The ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel have had virtually no effect on the situation in Ukraine, according to Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.

Speaking during an award ceremony for participants of the Magura project, Budanov noted that the conflict in the Middle East has been limited in scope.

“The conflict was limited in scale, duration, and geography. There are currently no active hostilities, so its impact on us is almost nonexistent,” he said.

Budanov also addressed concerns about Iran’s support for Russia, emphasizing that military cooperation between the two countries has waned.

“From Iran, apart from components — such as gunpowder, chemicals, and a small number of munitions — nothing has been sent [to Russia] for a long time,” he added.

In an interview with Hromadske Radio, Budanov elaborated that Russia’s dependency on Iranian military supplies is relatively minor.

“I’m sorry to disappoint you, but Russia is not that heavily dependent on supplies from Iran. Mostly, only components are coming from there,” he explained.

Although the pace of Iranian deliveries has slowed, Budanov noted that it is unlikely to have a noticeable impact on Russian operations.

“Shaheds have long been produced in Russia. So the answer is simple: this will not have any serious impact,” he concluded.

Ukraine continues to monitor international developments closely, but current assessments suggest that the Iran-Israel conflict poses no significant threat to Ukraine’s security or defense posture.
