On the night of March 23, Ukrainian drones struck the port of Primorsk on the Baltic Sea, according to the governor of Leningrad Oblast, Aleksandr Drozdenko.

Primorsk is one of the largest transshipment points for Russian oil and low-sulfur Euro-5 diesel fuel. Its oil handling capacity is about 1 million barrels of oil and around 300,000 barrels of diesel per day.

Previously, Ukrainian drones had struck the port on September 12 of last year, when part of the berths were taken out of operation and the oil shipping schedule was delayed by several days.

The air attack on Leningrad Oblast began late the previous evening. By six in the morning, more than 50 drones had been shot down over the region, Drozdenko clarified.
