On the night of April 28, Ukrainian drones launched a massive attack on Bryansk, according to Bryansk region governor Alexander Bogomaz. "Unfortunately, a civilian was killed and another woman was injured," Bogomaz wrote on Telegram. He added that civilian sites and infrastructure were damaged but did not specify which ones.

The Soviet district of Bryansk was hit, with locals reporting 10 to 15 explosions around 2 a.m., Shot reported. Meanwhile, VChK-OGPU, citing eyewitnesses, reported a major fire near the "Kremniy EL" plant on Krasnoarmeyskaya Street.

Kremniy EL is one of Russia’s largest microelectronics manufacturers, producing integrated circuits, diodes, transistors, and other components, including parts for Pantsir air defense systems and Iskander missile complexes.

The plant has been targeted multiple times by Ukrainian drones; on January 24, six drones struck the facility, temporarily halting its operations due to damage to production buildings and a warehouse.

According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, 115 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed overnight across Russian territory, with 102 of them over Bryansk region. Others were shot down over occupied Crimea (9), Kursk region (2), Belgorod region (1), and the Black Sea (1).

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, confirmed the drone strike.

According to him, “in Bryansk, the 'Kremniy' plant was once again attacked by unidentified drones. The facility produces microelectronics for missile complexes, Pantsir air defense systems, Iskander missiles, as well as for radars, electronic warfare systems, and Russian UAVs.”
