Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with Polish President Karol Nawrocki in Ankara on the sidelines of the NATO summit. The talks lasted more than an hour, with both leaders agreeing to continue dialogue and work on strengthening bilateral relations.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine and Poland face a common threat from Russia and must cooperate to protect their countries and peoples.
"The threat we share is one: Russia. It is very important to maintain mutual understanding, support each other, and act together. Our countries need only strong relations," Zelensky said.
The presidents agreed that partnership between Ukraine and Poland remains a shared priority and pledged to continue constructive cooperation to address outstanding issues.
According to the Polish president’s office, the meeting also included discussions on bilateral relations and historical issues between the two countries.
The talks took place amid efforts by Kyiv and Warsaw to maintain strategic cooperation in response to Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.
