During a meeting of the Board of the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund (URIF), the fund’s first investment was approved—in the Ukrainian technology company Sine Engineering.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko on Facebook.

“Today, a historic meeting of the Board of the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund (URIF) took place. Here in Kyiv, the Board approved the Fund’s first investment—in the Ukrainian dual-use technology company Sine Engineering,” she wrote.

According to her, the company operates in the field of communications and navigation, and its components are already used by more than 150 Ukrainian manufacturers of UAVs and interceptors.

Less than a year after the signing of the bilateral agreement, the fund has already made its first investment and received over 200 applications for consideration, more than half of which came from Ukrainian companies.

The largest number of proposals were submitted in the energy sector—key to Ukraine’s recovery—as well as in priority areas such as dual-use manufacturing, infrastructure, and critical minerals.

The Prime Minister thanked U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for his leadership in ensuring the fund’s operation, DFC Chief Investment Officer Conor Coleman, U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary for International Finance Jonathan Greenstein, and the entire American delegation that visited Ukraine despite ongoing attacks.

She also expressed special gratitude to U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine Julie Davis for coordinating cooperation.

“The U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund is part of our strategic partnership with the United States. Its successful work demonstrates that Ukraine offers unique experience and technologies and can be a successful business case,” Svyrydenko concluded.
