Russian forces have for the first time used a specialised warhead on a jet-powered drone designed to damage high-voltage power infrastructure and metal bridge structures, according to Ukrainian military communications specialist Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov.
Beskrestnov said the warhead, described as a KRSN specialised cumulative-cutting charge, was used for the first time on September 30.
According to him, the system consists of a main 40-kilogram warhead and four additional destructive modules. Its design is intended specifically for attacking high-voltage transmission towers and metal bridge structures.
“This is bad news. Today, the enemy used this particular warhead on a jet-powered UAV for the first time,” Beskrestnov wrote on Telegram.
He suggested that the development could indicate preparations for attacks against important high-voltage electricity transmission lines.
“I think the enemy plans to attack important high-voltage power lines,” he said.
