On Monday, Finland’s Defence Forces introduced a temporary restricted airspace zone in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland. The new regime also applies to the maritime area, according to Yle.
The spokesperson for the Finnish Defence Forces’ headquarters, Jere Paldanus, confirmed that the measures are linked to drone attacks on Russian territory.
He also noted that, at present, the Finnish Defence Forces have no information about drones that may have accidentally violated the country’s airspace.
“Nevertheless, the possibility that drones entered Finland cannot be ruled out. In such a situation, one should follow the instructions of the Ministry of the Interior regarding drones,” Paldanus said.
