Drones attacked petrochemical enterprises in Russia’s Bashkortostan region.
The city of Sterlitamak came under attack. It is one of the centers of the chemical and petrochemical industry in the Russian Federation.
In particular, the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant is located there, which produces ionol — an additive for aviation fuel and lubricants used in military equipment.
The city also hosts other enterprises that provide key components for aviation and missile equipment, including materials used in the production of explosives, gunpowder, and ammunition.
Local authorities stated that air defense allegedly shot down several drones over the industrial zone. Debris reportedly fell onto the territory of one of the enterprises.
The Syntez-Kauchuk JSC plant was likely hit, according to Exilenova+.
It is one of the key elements of the petrochemical cluster in Bashkortostan and is linked to major structures such as Bashneft.
