Russian forces continue assault operations in the area of responsibility of the Dnipro operational-strategic group, but their assault units are becoming exhausted. As a result, the intensity of offensive operations is likely to decrease by early autumn, according to Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Operational-Strategic Group Dnipro.

“Certainly, the Russians have not stopped yet, but we hope their momentum will wane sometime closer to the beginning of autumn rather than the middle. They are still pressing forward, even suffering casualties, but this cannot continue for long because accumulated losses in their assault units will eventually render them combat-ineffective,” Trehubov said.

He noted that Russian forces are already showing signs of a shortage of personnel for active assault operations.

“This is a classic situation. We also face challenges in this regard, but we fight defensively, while they fight offensively and need a different ratio. So for now, we are essentially waiting until enough of their forces are depleted. This concerns infantry, as they are not actively using equipment,” the spokesperson explained.

Trehubov added that a sufficient number of Russian infantry is expected to be lost during the rainy period, when attacking will be less convenient.
